PV GAS TO WELCOME THE FIRST LNG IMPORTING TANKER INTO VIETNAM
Around 10 am this morning, on July 10, 2023, the Maran Gas Achilles tanker carrying 70,000 tons of LNG arrived safely at the wharf of the Thi Vai LNG terminal system, Phu My town, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. This is the first LNG tanker that Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV Gas) imports LNG to Vietnam to supply the southern region market.
Thi Vai LNG terminal system of PV Gas has a storage capacity of 180,000m3, capacity of 1 million tons of LNG/year. The wharf is designed to accommodate LNG tankers with a tonnage of up to 100,000DWT.3, công suất 1 triệu tấn LNG/năm, cầu cảng được thiết kế để tiếp nhận tàu LNG tải trọng lên đến 100.000DWT.
The process of completing Thi Vai LNG Terminal project chain of PV Gas has been marked by a highly anticipated event today. This is a "historic moment" of Vietnam's gas industry.
The import of LNG is considered an important solution to ensure national energy security, long-term conversion of fuels for power generation such as coal, oil to natural gas. At the same time, this promotes the realization of Vietnam's commitments at COP26. CMB is honored to be selected as a consultant for marine construction items (wharf, channel, navigational signal) with legal services, survey, feasibility study report preparation, detailed design and formulating a plan to ensure maritime safety during the port operation.
